Farm users — invite, change roles and remove access

What this page helps you do

Open Admin → Farms → [farm] → Manage Users or the farm’s Users page to manage access to that particular farm. This is a view of the same customer memberships shown in Organisation users, narrowed to one farm. Use the organisation page when one person needs several farms or organisation-wide access.

An Owner or Manager can view and manage farm users, subject to the specific action’s authority. If you lack permission, the page explains that you must ask a farm Owner, Manager or organisation administrator. The page is read-only in a support viewing session.

Read the farm user list

The heading identifies the farm. Back to [farm] returns to its settings/detail page. The list shows ten people per page and reports the total number of farm users. Its columns are:

Column	What it tells you
User / Email	Name and email. You marks your account.
Organisation role	Tenant Admin or Member; it is separate from the role on this farm.
Farm role	The effective Owner, Manager, Vet or Worker role. An editable selector appears only for an eligible accepted user with this-farm access.
Access	Organisation-wide means the grant is managed on the organisation page. This farm means a farm-specific assignment.
Status	Pending invite, Active or Inactive. A pending invite has not yet become active farm access. Expired and revoked invitations are not retained as rows on this farm view; use Organisation users to inspect their organisation-level state or start a replacement invitation with the same email.
Actions	Depending on your authority and the member’s status: promote/demote Tenant Admin, edit a pending invitation, or remove farm access.

If loading fails, use Retry. Check the farm named in the heading before inviting or removing someone; the same person can have a different role on another farm.

Add / Invite User

Select Add / Invite User. Each opening starts a fresh form. Enter:

Field	Accepted value and effect
Email	Required valid email address. The invitee must accept with this address.
Full name	Required, 2–100 characters.
Role	Required. Choose from the available farm roles: Owner, Manager, Vet or Worker. The selector is backed by Farmlync’s role catalogue.

Choose Send Invite to submit or Cancel to close without saving. The new person may appear as Pending invite until they accept. The form displays an error if the request is rejected, for example because authority or seat capacity has changed. Recheck the row and the plan before retrying.

For a pending row, Edit invitation opens the same fields with email and full name fixed; choose a different Role and select Update invitation. An accepted user’s effective role is changed with the role selector in the list, not by editing the old invitation. If the person needs other farms, use Organisation users to grant them together.

Change a role or remove someone

For an eligible accepted user with This farm access, change Farm role in the row. The selection submits the change immediately; there is no separate Save button. You cannot change your own role. Only an Owner may assign Owner, even though the current selector also displays Owner to a Manager, and Farmlync rejects demoting the farm’s last Owner. The current inline selector does not show a rejected-change message or reliably restore its displayed value, so refresh the page and confirm the effective role before trying again if the list does not refresh after selection.

Remove shows an inline Remove? Confirm / Cancel step. Confirm removes this farm’s assignment; it is not a request to delete the person’s account or all other farm access. You cannot remove yourself. Only an Owner may remove another Owner, and the last Owner is protected. Removing the only farm from a pending selected-farm invitation revokes that invitation; removing one of several invited farms revises its proposed access. Organisation-wide access cannot be removed here: use Manage organisation access and edit it on the organisation page.

Tenant Admin promotion/demotion, where the actions are available, is an organisation-wide change. It is not the same as assigning the Owner farm role. Farmlync does not permit self-demotion or removal of the last Tenant Admin, although this farm page can still display a Demote control for your own row; perform the transfer from Organisation users and verify the result there. Check the person’s organisation role and farm role separately after any change.
