Feed Stock
What this page helps you do
Section titled “What this page helps you do”Operations → Inventory → Feed Stock shows the farm’s feed catalogue and its recorded stock. Use it to check forage, concentrate, mineral and supplement products before building a ration, receiving a delivery or buying more. Feed Stock is about product identity and physical balance; Feed → Rations defines recipes and Feed → Feeding events records what was actually offered.
Find and read a feed row

| Search feed stock… | Search the server-side catalogue by the product text. The list updates after a short pause and returns to page one. |
| Page controls | Browse results or change page size; 25 products appear initially. |
| Product row | Shows name, type/manufacturer when present, and recorded on-hand quantity with its unit. Open it and use the Product detail guide for batches, locations, costs, movements and nutrition. |
| No stock received | The tracked catalogue product has never had a receipt. Do not interpret it as a physical count of zero. |
| Not stock-tracked | The product can be recorded for intake and cost, but Farmlync does not keep a balance for it. |
| Low | A tracked product with a recorded balance of zero or below its reorder level. Never-received reference feeds do not get this badge by default. |
| DM and CP | Dry-matter and crude-protein percentages from available feed nutrition metadata. Missing badges mean this page has no value to display; do not assume zero. |
A low-stock link can open Feed Stock with only replenishment candidates displayed. When that view has rows, Show all clears the restriction. If it is empty, open Feed Stock again from the Inventory menu to return to the full list. Clear the search and chips before concluding that no feed product exists. Nutrition badges are fetched for the currently visible products; changing page can bring in another set of badges.
Add, receive or buy
Section titled “Add, receive or buy”Add product searches the shared catalogue and lets you adopt an existing entry or create a farm-only product if needed. The selected feed-type chip can carry into the add form. Adding a product does not create a batch, ration or feeding event. Review product setup for the fields and feed nutrition editor.
Receive stock opens a receipt restricted to Feed products. A tracked product’s row Receive shortcut preselects it. Record the actual delivery, quantity, date, lot and cost where relevant; then check the product’s batches and balance. Buy appears for a low tracked item when you may manage inventory. It adds a proposal to the Purchase list; if no suggested quantity is available, supply a positive quantity and explanation. Neither buying nor receiving records an animal feeding event. These write actions depend on your farm inventory permission.
After a product exists, use Rations to assemble per-cow daily ingredients, Feed plans to assign a ration to a pen and Feeding events to record actual delivery.
