An organisation is the account that owns the subscription, farms and users. A farm holds its own herd and daily records. Create or select the organisation first, then work within the correct farm.

From an account with no organisation, choose Create organisation. Enter Business name, Country and, where requested, Region. Select Farm type: Dairy, Beef or Mixed. Under How can Farmlync Support help?, select Allow support, Ask me first or Off; expand What support can do to read the scope. Submit once and wait for the setup page. Farmlync prepares the organisation, its initial subscription and a default farm. When the page completes, open Admin → Organisation to check the business details and Admin → Farms to check the farm.

Open Admin → Organisation to read the selected organisation’s plan and usage. This overview is read-only; it has a Tenant settings link, not a business-name editor. Open Admin → Settings for operating defaults such as units, time/date display, milk density, breeding intervals and record-void window. The control-by-control settings guide lists each accepted value and explains the save and conflict flow. Contact Farmlync Support when an organisation name requires correction. Farm-specific tag, identity and livestock overrides live on the farm, so changing organisation settings is not a replacement for checking each farm.

For a first deployment, follow Configure organisation and farm defaults, then Set up a farm’s shared libraries. Set the milk unit before offline clients begin recording; the Settings page warns that changing it later can affect queued records.

Open Admin → Farms. Search by farm name or code, and use the status filter to see active, inactive or deleted farms. Select a farm to see its detail. Choose Create Farm to add a site. The farm-screen guide explains every field, accepted value and status action. Review the timezone carefully because Farmlync uses farm-local dates throughout the product. Submit, then find the new farm in the list.

On a farm’s detail page, Edit changes farm configuration. Deactivate stops ordinary use of that farm; Reactivate brings it back. Delete requires confirmation and is unavailable for the organisation’s last remaining farm. Do not delete a farm to fix a mistaken animal record. Use the relevant correction action on the record instead.

Use Manage Users on the farm detail page to see only people assigned to that farm. To assign a person to several farms at once, use Admin → Organisation users instead. Users and access explains that flow.

The farm detail page has Animal Groups and Pens sections. Choose Add Group or Add Pen, enter the requested name and details, and save. Use Edit to change one later. Delete asks for confirmation; review which animals use the group or pen before removing it. Groups organize animals for work and reporting, while pens record physical locations. Deleting a pen does not reassign its animals. Check dependent feed plans before moving animals or removing a pen.

You can also reach farm configuration from the Farm portal’s Manage and Settings areas. Check that you are editing the intended farm; organisation settings apply more broadly than farm settings.

After creating a farm, return to Admin → Farms and find its name and status. Enter the Farm portal and check the selected farm in the header. After changing a group or pen, open the farm detail again and verify it appears in the right section. If a save is rejected, keep the form open and correct the highlighted field or read the specific permission/capacity message.
