Animal and fallen-stock registers

What these pages help you do

Open Operations → Reports → Browse all reports. The Animal register is a filterable snapshot of animals belonging to the selected farm, including active and exited animals. The Fallen Stock Register narrows the view to carcass-related exits and lets an authorized farm user record collector, collection and disposal-confirmation evidence. A report export copies current records; it does not submit anything to a government registry.

Animal register: find a cohort or audit a record

Start with the selected farm and the four visible filters. They combine: an animal must satisfy all selected conditions. The count above the table is the number of matches, while the table displays 25 animals per page. Changing a filter returns to page one. Browser Back/Forward can restore filter values because they are kept in the page address; a restored advanced filter opens the advanced section so it is visible. Clear filters removes the filter set.

Control	Accepted choice and effect
Search	Part of the tag, name or national ID; matching is case-insensitive. This is not a search of every register column.
Status	The page currently offers All statuses, Active, Exited and Deceased. The stored terminal statuses are Sold, Deceased and Culled: Exited is not a stored status and currently returns no matches, while Sold and Culled have no direct option. Use Exited from/to or Exit reason to find those animals until the selector is corrected. The unfiltered register includes all retained statuses.
Sex	All or one of the sex values offered by the catalogue.
Lifecycle stage	All or a displayed current stage. This filter is resolved from the operational stage projection; if no animal has it, the result is empty.
Show/Hide advanced filters	Reveals the date, breed, sire, exit-reason and herd-tenure controls. Hiding the section does not clear active advanced filters.

The advanced date pairs Born from/to, Joined from/to and Exited from/to are inclusive farm-local calendar dates. Year born is a calendar year such as 2022; it can be combined with the born-date pair. Breed offers recorded breeds; the query matches names starting with the selected value, case-insensitively. Sire (tag or name) searches a contained part of the recorded sire name or linked sire tag. Exit reason selects one catalogue reason, so animals without an exit reason do not match it. Days in herd (min/max) are inclusive numeric bounds on farm-local calendar days. For an active animal the end is today; for an exited animal it is the exit date. Use a valid calendar year, ordered date pairs and non-negative tenure numbers, with minimum no greater than maximum. The page does not currently validate those relationships before requesting the report: a reversed range can look like a genuine empty result and an out-of-range year can fail the request. A blank advanced control does not restrict the result.

The table has Tag · Name (with national ID and current RFID where available), DOB · Sex, Breed · Colour, Stage · Status, Lactation, Dam · Sire, Joined, Exited, Age (d) and In herd (d). The stage and lactation values come from the operational state; a dash means that value is unavailable. Joined can show its source; Exited can show reason and destination. Age is whole farm-local days from birth to today even for an exited animal; In herd is from joining to today or the exit date, never negative. Sorting a table column rearranges the current page only; it does not reorder the entire server-side match set.

Export CSV uses the same filter set but fetches all matching animals, not just the visible page. It adds columns such as parent identifiers, RFID, join age, entry source and exit destination. The button is unavailable when there are no matches. The current endpoint has no synchronous row cap, so narrow the filters before exporting a very large register. Check the selected farm and filters before sharing an export, because it can contain identity and movement details. For correcting an animal, use its animal detail and identity guide rather than editing this report.

Fallen Stock Register: track disposal

This register includes non-deleted animals on the farm with an exit date and an exit reason of Deceased, Lost or Culled. An animal without a disposal record appears as Pending. Exit from and Exit to narrow the exit timestamp; leave blank for all dates. The server currently receives date-only filter values as timestamps and compares exit_date <= To, so an exit later on the chosen Exit to day may be omitted. If a known exit is missing, widen To and inspect the animal record before treating the report as complete. The page loads every matching historical row in one request and has no pagination, so use a date range on farms with a long disposal history.

Page item	Meaning or action
Fallen stock	Number of rows in the current date-filtered result.
Awaiting disposal	Rows whose disposal status is not Confirmed. This includes Collected rows awaiting confirmation, not only Pending rows.
Overdue	Non-confirmed rows more than three farm-local calendar days after exit. The row badge also shows days since exit. This is the report’s operational threshold.
Animal, Exit date, Reason	Identity and source exit information. Correct an incorrect exit in the animal’s own workflow.
Disposal, Collector, Collected, Certificate	Evidence status and details. Pending has no collection date; Collected has a collection date but no confirmation date; Confirmed has a confirmation date and certificate reference.
Export CSV	Exports all currently returned rows with status, dates, collector, certificate and notes. It is disabled if no rows are returned.
+ Collector	Opens the collector-creation form.
Record disposal / Update disposal	Opens the selected animal’s disposal form. A saved record uses Update disposal and requires a correction reason if details change.

Add a disposal collector

Select + Collector on the page, or + New beside Collector in a disposal form. Name is required (at most 200 characters). Type is required; choose one of the offered values: Knacker, Renderer, AbpPlant, Incinerator or Other. Phone is optional (at most 50 characters); License / registration no. is optional (at most 100 characters). Party register link optionally associates an existing tenant party that has the Disposal Collector role. Selecting an unrelated party is rejected. Add saves the collector for this farm; Cancel discards the unsaved form.

Viewing the register requires report access. Adding a collector and recording or correcting disposal require Manage animals authority (normally an Owner or Manager). Current limitation: the page still renders these mutation buttons to read-only report users; the server rejects their save attempt. If a save is forbidden, ask an authorized farm manager rather than repeatedly submitting it.

Record collection or confirmation

Open Record disposal on the animal’s row. The form identifies the animal by tag and name. A record can start with a Collector, Collection date, Confirmed date, Disposal certificate ref and Notes; fields may be left blank while evidence is still pending. Dates use the farm’s calendar. Collection date cannot precede the animal’s exit or be in the future, and requires a Collector. Confirmed date cannot precede collection or be in the future; it requires both a collection date and a non-blank certificate reference. The certificate reference accepts at most 200 characters, Notes at most 1,000. The form disables Save for several missing-field combinations; the server also checks the date and farm rules.

Saving a collection date gives Collected status. Saving a confirmation date with its certificate gives Confirmed status. Neither action changes the animal’s terminal exit or creates a second animal. For an existing disposal record, choose Update disposal, change the evidence and fill Correction reason before Save correction. Keep the reason within 500 characters; the database enforces that limit although the current form and request validator do not show it before save. If another user changed the record first, reload the register and recheck the latest values rather than overwriting the conflict. An unchanged submission leaves the record as it is. A saved correction is attributed and audited; do not use the form to hide an earlier disposal mistake.
