Farm setup and reference data
Open Farm → Manage for common setup tasks and Farm → Settings for farm-specific values. Use Add from library to select shared reference items offered to your farm. A platform administrator may publish global library entries; a farm user selects the relevant ones and can create a permitted local entry where the page offers it.
Find your task
Section titled “Find your task”| To do this | Follow this guide |
|---|---|
| Set up a new organisation and farm | Onboard a farm |
| Bring shared library entries into your farm | Set up farm libraries |
| Add opening medicines, feed and semen stock | Catalog adoption and opening stock |
| Change animal identification settings | Livestock settings |
| Set up groups, pens and contacts | Groups and pens and Parties and contacts |
Livestock settings
Section titled “Livestock settings”Open Livestock Settings from the farm or its Admin detail. Check the tag label, national-ID rule, herd type, breeds and other identification settings before a large animal import. Existing animal records are not automatically rewritten merely because a display label changes. Save and reopen the page to verify the new values.
Groups and pens
Section titled “Groups and pens”Open Groups to view animal groups; open a group to see its members and available edit controls. In Farm Settings or Admin → Farms → [farm], add or edit a group or pen. Use the animal detail to assign an animal. Before deleting a group or pen, check membership and any feeding plan that depends on it. A group can represent an operational cohort; a pen is a location.
Parties and contacts
Section titled “Parties and contacts”Use Parties to maintain the people and organisations offered as counterparties in farm work, such as suppliers or buyers. Search first, add a missing party, and edit incorrect details rather than creating a near-duplicate. A party record alone does not record a delivery, sale or payment. The Parties and contacts guide covers the list filters, every form field, role choices and archive/restore actions.
