Notifications — inbox and preferences

Farm portal → Notifications is your message inbox for the selected farm. It helps you see farm alerts and events after they occur; it does not replace the underlying animal record, alert or Work item. Notification preferences controls how this account receives messages for that farm. If you work on several farms, check the current farm before changing a setting.

Read the inbox

The page shows 20 notifications at a time. Unread Only filters the list to unread messages; select Show All to return. Prev and Next move between result pages. Mark All Read updates the farm’s inbox and bell count. On an individual sent, unread message, select the check-mark control to Mark as read. A Failed or Suppressed informational row does not have that control. A support-request message may offer Review support request to open the relevant support-access page.

Each card shows a title, body, relative age, channel and sometimes an event-type or severity badge. Suppressed may show a reason; Failed can show a failure reason on hover. A message’s presence or absence is not proof that a treatment, withdrawal or movement was completed: open the owning farm record for that decision. Preferences opens the settings below. If the list fails to load, use Retry; an empty Unread Only view means no unread messages in that filter.

Set notification preferences

Open Notifications → Preferences. The channel choices in Notification Channels are:

Control	Effect
In-App Notifications	Receive messages through the Farmlync bell/inbox.
Email Notifications	Allow alert and event email for this account and farm.
Push Notifications	Allow browser/phone push in the saved preference. The device also needs a separate browser push subscription.
Daily alert digest	One email at 07:00 farm-local time summarising open alerts. Email notifications must also be enabled.

Under Quiet Hours, set both Start and End or leave both empty. The service rejects a lone bound. Select the Timezone used for the quiet-hours schedule. Non-critical notifications are suppressed during quiet hours; critical alerts still come through. Select Save Preferences and wait for Preferences saved. An error banner means the update did not succeed.

Browser / Phone Push manages this device’s browser subscription separately from the saved Push Notifications checkbox. Select Enable on this device and allow the browser permission. Once enabled, Send test push checks delivery and Disable on this device unsubscribes it. If the browser blocks permission, re-enable notifications for the site in browser settings and refresh. On iPhone, install Farmlync using Safari Add to Home Screen, then open it from the icon before enabling push. An enable prompt may also appear on the inbox page.

Expand Per-alert-type channel overrides to set a different In-App, Email or Push choice for a specific enabled alert rule. The list is sourced from this farm’s active alert rules. Tap a channel chip to save that alert-type override immediately; it is separate from the main Save Preferences button. Use the reset icon to return that alert type to the saved general choices. Browser subscription still gates whether push can reach a device. If no alert rules are enabled, there are no types to customise here; check the farm’s alert rules.
