Vet visits
What this page helps you do
Section titled “What this page helps you do”Health → Vet visits keeps the farm’s appointment and visit record in one place. Schedule a visit before the vet comes, then complete it with findings and costs. If the visit already happened, record it directly as completed. The visit can collect linked animal treatments, but writing prescription notes does not record medicine administration or update a withdrawal hold. Use Record Treatment for any treatment actually given.
Find a visit
Section titled “Find a visit”The page starts with the farm’s last 90 days and shows 20 visits per page. Search by vet name narrows the list after a short pause. Use the status control to choose All, Scheduled, Completed or Cancelled. From and To set a date window, Show all removes the default window, and Clear filters restores the default view. A missing visit may simply be outside the current date or status filter. If the list fails to load, use Retry.
The desktop table shows Date, Vet, Purpose, Status, Animals, Cost and Findings. A dash means an optional amount or finding was not recorded. Choose View details on a row to read the full findings, recommendations, prescription notes and other notes. On mobile, open the visit card to see its detail and available actions.
The details also show Treatments recorded during this visit and any Pending follow-ups from those linked treatments. The animal link opens the relevant animal record. Record Treatment from a non-cancelled visit opens the treatment form with this visit linked; complete the treatment’s own fields and safety checks there. An empty linked-treatments list does not prove no treatment occurred outside Farmlync.
Schedule an upcoming visit
Section titled “Schedule an upcoming visit”Choose Schedule Visit and enter:
| Control | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Vet (from register) | Optional saved Vet party. Choosing one fills Vet Name; check the name before saving. |
| Vet Name | Required name, up to 200 characters. Enter it directly if the vet is not in the register. |
| Visit Date | Required farm-local date; the form starts at today. Select the planned visit date. |
| Purpose | Required choice: Routine Check, Emergency, Vaccination Program, Pregnancy Check, Herd Health Review, Surgery or Follow-up. |
| Notes | Optional information to have ready for the vet, up to 1,000 characters. |
Choose Schedule Visit and wait for the confirmation. The visit has Scheduled status. Cancel in the form only closes the unsaved form; it is different from cancelling an existing appointment. A scheduled entry is a plan, not evidence that the vet attended.
Complete a scheduled visit
Section titled “Complete a scheduled visit”Find the scheduled row, open View details, then choose Complete. Record the actual visit information before Mark Completed:
| Control | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Findings | Optional observed findings, up to 2,000 characters. |
| Recommendations | Optional advice or follow-up instructions, up to 2,000 characters. |
| Prescription Notes | Optional prescription text, up to 2,000 characters. This is not a medicine-treatment record. |
| Animals Examined | Required whole number, zero or more. Count animals actually examined. |
| Total Cost | Optional non-negative amount in the farm’s displayed currency. |
| Arrival Time, Departure Time | Optional times. When both are entered, departure must be after arrival. |
| Notes | Optional additional information, up to 1,000 characters. |
The text fields on this completion form may offer a microphone where voice dictation is supported. Review dictated text before saving. A successful save changes the status to Completed; if an error appears, the visit was not confirmed as completed. If another user changed the visit while your form was open, reload the latest record and review it before trying again.
Record a visit that already happened
Section titled “Record a visit that already happened”Choose Record Vet Visit instead of scheduling when recording a completed visit. Enter Vet (from register) or the required Vet Name, the required farm-local Visit Date, and a required Purpose from the same seven choices above. The form also asks for Animals Examined and offers Findings, Recommendations, Prescription Notes, Total Cost, Arrival Time, Departure Time and Notes with the same limits and meanings as the completion form. Choose Save Visit. This creates a Completed visit directly; do not schedule and complete a duplicate for the same attendance.
Change, cancel or review a visit
Section titled “Change, cancel or review a visit”For a Scheduled visit, use Edit to change its details, or Cancel if it will not take place. The cancellation confirmation keeps the row with Cancelled status and says the action cannot be undone. A completed visit cannot be cancelled through this action.
For a Completed visit, choose Correct rather than recording a duplicate. Enter a Reason for correction of 5–500 characters, review the changed fields and choose Save Correction. History shows earlier values and the correction trail. The form uses the version you opened; if another user changed the record, reload it before correcting. A cancelled visit remains visible for history but does not offer the completed-visit correction action.
